May is here and the fish are in town. As the baitfish pass through they drag the gamefish with them. We picked off a few nice Spanish Mackerel in the harbor while Jack fishing. This is also a good time to get a few Snapper if you know of some structure to fish around. Try dropping a bait in the inlet to see if any Cobia are lurking in the deep. The Jacks and Cudas are in the canals behind the homes off the ICW. As long as the tidal water is moving they should be eating. Its hard to beat live bait to trick these fish into eating steel. An early morning surface plug chucked into a froth of Jacks eating breakfast against the seawall can make for a great bite. Sea Ya! Captain Ron Mallet www.actionsportfishing.com
