{%image_id=38789%}Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing continues to offer a variety of species for our anglers. While we love to head offshore in search of Mahi-Mahi and maybe get another crack at a nice Blue Marlin the close to shore action right at the third reef has been strong. Kingfish, Bonito and some really fat Blackfin Tunas right on the edge and only a mile off the beach have made it difficult to charge right by them when they are typically on most days biting well. Pictured is Susan and her group that joined us aboard the Marlin My Darlin for a half day charter. Action was the request and we opted for trolling as the number of bites trolling has outnumbered the bites on the live baits. Some truly large Kings on the live bait and the larger Tunas as well, but action, good action, is coming on trolled baits along the reef line. As expected the deep planer rods running at 45 to 65 feet below the surface with light leaders have produced the most bites. A lot of fish holding right at the reef in 100 feet of water. And the water is clean with a slight north current. The rain from a couple of days ago is gone. Winds out of the northwest for this charter with a forecasted swing to the north later in the day tomorrow. Scattered Sails and an occasional Wahoo right in there at the edge.

Tight Lines,

Capt. John Logan
