Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing has had some erratic days offshore to start our new year. One day we will catch a Sailfish or two and we have had a decent catch of Mahi-Mahi and some Kingfish a couple of days, but nestled in between the good days there have been some slower ones. On the slower days we have spent quite a bit of time targeting Kingfish as we can usually find a few willing to bite even on the toughest day. A good number of these fish are inside of 100 feet of water. When we decide to go after these Kings for an extended time frame it really is a "pound the pavement" approach to try and put some fish in the box. We have found them as shallow as 65 feet the last two days and that is abnormally shallow for our Ft. Lauderdale fishing area. There are some Hammerhead Sharks moving through just outside the reef line and we have had some fun with several sharks. Cold front on the way and we are hoping it will get some better numbers of sailfish into our front yard. Ft. Lauderdale deep sea fishing is hopefully going to take off with the cold front passing through. {%image_id=18796%} Captain Rick Brady
