Sailfish and Wahoo Bite this week in Fort Lauderdale

{%image_id=31072%} Wahoos are biting off the chain in Fort Lauderdale this week. On the reef or offshore, wahoos are around in strong numbers all over. Every trip this week has caught one or more wahoos and almost all of them are in the 30-40 pound range. Trolling planers and heavy deep trolling leads at high speeds is the most efficient way to catch wahoo. It's the best way to cover the most ground in the least amount of time, and wahoo really go after a fast moving bait. Slow trolling live bonitos on the edge of the Gulfstream is also a good method to target wahoo. {%image_id=31070%} Sailfish action is also great this month. Kite fishing in 120-180ft of water, just south of the inlet is working consistently for catching sailfish. Cold weather really gets the sailfish snapping.
