Fishing around the Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale area from Port Everglades this past week has been pretty good for us. Every half-day trip we caught a least 1 or 2 very nice fish. On two occasions this week we had double headers on sailfish. One day, it was a father and son that each caught their first sailfish together. On another recent trip, a repeat customer who caught is first sailfish a month ago, came back this week with another friend he ask me if we had a chance at more sailfish? I said, yes it's very possible with the cooler weather this week, and so we went. We had a north wind and an outgoing tide, so we setup right up front, by the whistle buoy. We put 2 goggle eyes on the kite and a deep one. In very short order, we quickly caught a double header sailfish and a mahi for Jerry and his friend. The same spread later produced 2 kingfish. It's not that we're catching fish in big numbers, but they have cooperated this week to make all our customers very happy. {%image_id=41707%} {%image_id=41708%} {%image_id=41709%} We also fished some area ship wrecks and did very good. We caught 2 big black groupers that we had to release due to closure of the season, but those fish put up a huge battle. And for someone who's never caught a saltwater bottom fish, it's quite an eye opening experience. {%image_id=41710%} {%image_id=41711%} We also had our share of nice mahi-mahi. One trip, we caught 3 in the 15 lb. range. We also had some beautiful lady fishing with us this week and they caught some kingfish, tunas, 1 small amberjack and a silky shark. The weather has been nice, a little bit cooler, with enough wind to fly the kite and if we can get that north current, fishing will be even better. {%image_id=41706%} {%image_id=41713%} {%image_id=41712%} Good Luck & Tight Lines, Capt.
