We have finally had some good consistent sailfishing here off Fort Lauderdale. The cold front 3 weeks ago was phenomenal and our best trip we caught 10 of 13 sail bites in 3 hours of fishing. These fish arent biting that good anymore but we are still seeing 4-5 fish on the half dsys and up to 10 on a full day. Kingfish are around but mostly on the smaller size around 10lbs. We have had a few decent fish up to 30lbs in the last week but that has been every other trip or so. A few dolphin are biting but nothing that consistent. With the full moon coming up the wahoo bite should be improving. This moon last year was really good with some boats catching up to 5 fish in a morning, hopefully they bite like that this year. Bottom fishing has been pretty good with mutton snappers are main target off Ft. Lauderdale. We have also caught and released some groupers on the wrecks. On the deep we have been catching vermilion snappers and even deeper the tilefish and rosefish are good eats. Best fish of the week was the attached african pompano that my charter from texas caught on Thursday off the downrigger.
