Sailfishing off Fort Lauderdale

Sailfishing has remained consistent over the past week with our Ft. Lauderdale charters catching between 2 and 4 per half day. This week we went 3 for 6, 2 for 4 and 4 for 5 on our charters. We have been kite fishing off fort lauderdale from 120-200 ft. of water for the best bites. The sailfish have come on goggle eyes, sm. runners and ballyhoo. Most other fishing on the reef have slowed. Though the kingfishing has slowed as we have changed our kite baits over to mono to get more sailfish bites and that has resulted in mostly cut offs. We are still averaging 6+ king bites per trip but most are resulting in a cutoff. Dolphin are still on the reef but have slowed in the last couple days as the wind has also slowed. Dolphin fishing should pick back up with the wind. Snapper fishing has been consistent for people trying to target them. The yellowtail bite has slowed though we are still catching at least one nice mutton snapper per trip. These aren't small fish either they have been in the 6-9lb. range. Usually the snapper fishing off ft. lauderale stays consistent thoughout the winter so we can always target these tasty fish if you would like to. Offshore small blackfins remain for those who want to target them on light tackle. Dolphin can stil be found under birds and debris for people that have looked, we just haven't ventured out there in the last two weeks due to weather and catching them on the reef. Swordfishing has been good for the few boats that have ventured out there and should remain good as there is less fishing pressure with the temperature and seas. Fish that we caught were in th 100-200lb range. We don't have another sword trip planned till next week so give us a call as I have both day and night trip spots available off Fort Lauderdale.
