September 26, 2012 Fort Lauderdale FIshing Today Will and Captain Joe were in charge of the Lady Pamela III, and they had a great day fishing offshore. They hosted a group of anglers on a shared charter and started the first 2 hours of the trip by trolling baits behind planers in 300 feet of water. A few blackfin tuna had been showing up in about that depth over the past few days, and today was no exception. After landing a few of those blackfins they decided to try their luck at sharkfishing. Will had just put the first two shark baits out and they got a bite fast. Captain Joe punched the boat ahead quick to set the hook and all of a sudden a huge mako shark jumped clear out of the water, way behind the boat. These fish can jump up to 24 feet out of the water, and although this one didn't jump that high, he provided undisputable visual confirmation that the crew had a nice fish on! There was a lot of adrenaline and a lot excitement on the boat and after a tough 45 minute fight, a big boy shortfin mako shark was in the cockpit. Great fishing guys! {%image_id=29217%} Tight Lines, Capt David Ide 954 761 8045 www.ladypamela2.com
