The Blackfin Tuna Bite Continues

A few weeks ago I said the tuna bite was going to be good for the next few weeks… Well, our last 4 trips this week - morning and afternoon – have produced exactly what I expected, nice blackfin tuna and some occasional sailfish. We're averaging 2 to 5 tuna per trip, in the 20 to 30 lb. range. {%image_id=38803%} {%image_id=38804%} {%image_id=38805%} {%image_id=38806%} {%image_id=38807%} {%image_id=38808%} {%image_id=38809%} We've also had some really nice weather with just enough wind to fly our kite. I also mentioned in my last report that our top baits were not producing, but that has all changed. This week we've seen lots of action on top- and mid-water baits, as well as on the kite. Most of our recent catches have been in some really nice blue water, but we are also finding fish in green water. We've been most productive in-between 100' to 200', while staying within just a few miles north or south of Port Everglades Inlet - so we don't have to run very far. Good Luck & Tight Lines, Capt.
