Pompano, redfish, sheepshead: Ft. Myers Beach, SW FL The photo shown at right is of a 19 inch redfish, caught on live shrimp in Estero Bay. I fished Saturday, for the first time since the last week of September. We had planned to fish the gulf, but with the winds up, and the swells left over from our low pressure disturbance all week, we decided to fish the off main channel behind Ft. Myers Beach. We had some nice sized live shrimp, and caught a good variety of fish, including a 24 inch redfish, a 4 ½ pound pompano, keeper-sized sheepshead, and some throw-back mangrove snapper.
