Fort Myers to Boca Grande inshore fishing report

Extreme low tides during the full and new moon phases has helped the inshore fishing. Good numbers of redfish and speckled trout are provided anglers with excellent catch and release action. Most of the redfish are at or just below the slot and speckled trout are catch and release only until January 1st. Live shrimp and a variety of soft plastics have produced the best. I have also been catching quite a few redfish and trout on pompano jigs. The Silly Willy is my favorite. Flounder, pompano, ladyfish, and a few sheephead are filling in the gaps while looking for redfish and trout. Gag grouper and bluefish are holding near inshore structure. I've been using live sardines to catch the grouper and blues.
