Tuna & Tarpon Greetings, This week of great weather was tailor made for sight fishing. We spent three days out there with fly rods chasing little tunny's (false albacore) and blackfin tuna around. What a mind blowing time that is, they have amazing power. Mixed in are some great sharks and a few other things as well. Yesterday two sailfish gave us a great shot on fly, but no takers. The L.T's are so strong, a ten weight is about as small as you can use, and still catch on in a days time! Its pure action, lots of shots, and plain fun. Tarpon are in the area now but not easy. We have spent a considerable amount of time looking before finding them in good numbers. I prefer to work fish I can see. There are many boats every day out in the Knapps point area and they are having some success. Lots of sharks over there as well. We have spent most of our time much deeper where the fish seem more aggressive and willing to eat. The water is a pretty blue as well and its like fishing in a clear pond, you can watch them swim all around and under the boat, perfect for fly action. If you go be patient, and keep looking they are here. Sincerely, Capt. Rick
