Nearshore Action Makes It Fun Greetings, Fishing in Southwest Florida is always interesting especially offshore. We are catching fish every day and almost every day it’s been something new. Versatility is the key we just stay ready to change it up to keep the action in high gear. It’s the near shore action that has had our attention for several days now. Most of the artificial reefs and wrecks are holding quality Sheepshead to nine pounds and trophy Black Drum to thirty-five pounds. Cobia make a showing now and then along with a cuda or two to keep us looking all the time. There are some very large Goliath grouper here also but with the cold fronts it’s been difficult to entice them to come out and play. Well offshore past the forty-mile range and out to eighty miles we had great Yellowtail action along with nice Amberjacks to fifty pounds on two long range trips. We picked up a three nice Blackfin’s as well moving between spots. On the deep wrecks the big Goliath are ready and waiting to try you on for size. Take a kid fishing and have fun, Capt. Rick
