Green Water Bounce Back, Good Stuff

fought our way through the brown water and struck gold or at least copper in the green water under the bushes on the late incoming phase of high tides and first of the outgoing. You can see the crews' in the know pitching stuff to the clear salt under the bushes and docks. The monsoon conditions called for relenting on the "five minute rule with generous chum and patients needed to score on the spotails. There are lots of just slot fish in Estero and some sows if you cull your catches. Stinky shrimp (not too stinky), cut fish bait (the oilier the better) and pins were all reasonable offerings. The last batch of live shrimp we saws were "crickets" minis, four to a hook, it can get expensive! The baits still not school up in the bays with the brown water influx, there's some reasonable whitebait on the beaches. Trout action was best in and around the passes; green water, good movement and some shiners to be had. Gulps, other scented plastics and swimbaits worked as well on the specks. There are reports of mixed size poons in the feeder creeks and, probably worth a shot if you're a buggy whip addict.
