Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

The Local Action is heating up. Redfish, Trout, and even some Tarpon are starting to show in pretty good numbers. Some Pompano are being scored by other Guides but not this one. Redfish: North of Redfish Pass is the place to go. Oyster Shell Bars seem to be holding more fish than the Mangroves. Big Hand Picks are the ticket. Pinch the tails off for some scent. Cut Ladyfish are always a tasty substitute. Most of the fish caught on GiddyUp Charters have been between 19-22". Occasionally we will score a brute (+25) Trout are starting a slow comeback. Once again, try the oyster bars around the EBB. The bite usually turns on at the 1st of the Outgoing. Some 19" fish have been taken. Shrimp is the ticket. Snook have been smashing at night but shy during the day. Maybe the bigger snook are back on the beach. Plans to find out will be made soon.
