Fishing in SW FL has been outstanding BUT my buddy and fellow Captain, David Dean, recently spotted a giant strain of RED TIDE. Capt David was prefishing for a King Mack Tournament. On their way back from Naples to Ft Myers, the strain stretched for about 12 miles according to Capt Dean. The location was 40ft of water. As the Gulf of Mexico decrements ever so slowly, this area is usually around the shrimp boat fleet at anchor. Trout (Big Trout) are the talk of the town. Try popping corks with DOA shrimp. Red head with Pearl body (at the risk of repeating myself). Try the area near the Fish Shacks. Tarpon are on fire all over the Sanibel and Captiva Beaches. Walk the beach, wade out in the water, and throw a Black and Silver Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow. They will rip it! Redfish? Hmmmmmm. There are 5 Tournaments per week in SW FL. The pressure on these fish is absurb. Don't even get me started. Snook: I love the docks at the entry to Tarpon Bay. You will see me there tomorrow on my charter. GiddyUp
Tight Lines,
