Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

A new supply of 3tails have moved into the 30Ft area off Estero Island. The great fish will really give you a nice fight. Most are in the 7-10LB range. Forget trying to free line a shrimp to them. Try a popping cork with short leader. Grouper start at the 40FT ledges. Don't waste your time trolling around the May and GH Reefs. It ain't happenin'. There is not wrong with trying pinfish on the nearshore reefs. Trout remain absent from the A-Frame bar near the Sanibel Causeway. Try "B" Span (Restrooms). For the bigger trout, try going North. North of Chino Island. Snook are nicely stacked up in the residential canals around St James City. The night time is the right time. GiddyUp PS: Can't find the pompano.
