Tarpon and Snook are munching off of Fort Myers Beach

The fishing couldn't be much better! Tarpon are still schooled up in the near shore Gulf waters and are feeding well on live threadfin herrings. We've been seeing them in good numbers just a couple of miles offshore and the hookup ration has been good. The water has been so clear it's best to drift for them or work near them quietly on a trolling motor. Snook are showing up on the beaches and are eating small white bait and large threads. The near shore rock piles are producing some grouper with a few keepers and lots of spanish mackerel and sharks of all kinds. When the tide is moving hard we've been working the pass bridges for big jacks and small tarpon. They are hitting just about anything thrown their way and are a blast on light tackle. The weather patterned is suppose to hold for the next 10 days or so and that means great catching!
