Capt. Dave Hoke www.hokefishingcharters.com 239-425-7452 January has brought us warmer than average temperatures and favorable winds. Pine Island Sound is covered with redfish and trout from shore to shore and anglers are taking advantage of it. Season started early for me this year as I have already worked a couple full weeks and the openings in my calendar are few and far between. {%image_id=24415%} I had the chance to make a trip up to Hudson, Florida this past week to check out the progress of my new boat being built. She looks good, and delivery is still expected to be near the 1st of February. Ok, back to fishing.....The next couple months should bring more of the same for light tackle fishing in the bay. Look for a large amount of trout on our flats and redfishing should continue to be strong. There are more redfish on our flats than I have seen in all my years of fishing Pine Island Sound with many of the fish measuring between 22-24 inches and weighing around 5 lbs. {%image_id=24413%} {%image_id=24414%} I hope this email finds everyone doing well and I look forward to fishing with you this year!
