Finally! We have had a good week for fishing. The weather was good with light winds and no rain and plenty of fish for both inshore and offshore. The TROUT bite has been good from Round Island to the north to the docks at Midway Road to the south. The trout were taking both live shrimp and rubber baits. The bite pretty much ended around 9:00am when the heat of the morning started to kick in. There has been a good SNAPPER bite going on in the channel edges and along the catwalks of the South Bridge. Live shrimp was the bait to use. On Sunday I took my wife, Cammie, to her favorite TRIPLETAIL spot. She landed two to 12 pounds. She is still trying to break her record of 16 & 3/4 pounds from last year. Cammie was fishing with a trol-rite hook and a live shrimp. The SNOOK are still here and are making a showing around the North Bridge at night and in the Inlet on the tide change. Pinfish and shrimp have been taking the most snook. Remember that snook season closes soon. The TARPON are shwoing up in the surf and at Big Mud Creek. I did get a report of a 50 pounder being boated on Thursday. They are still laying low. C. P. R.
