Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

The inshore fishing wasn't too bad for the weekend and the first part of the week, but, after Wednesday you were not going to have much luck. The water is dirty, the wind is blowing and the rain is falling. On Saturday and Sunday the trout bite was red hot at first light. Most of the catches that were reported came from just south of the Midway Road area and all the way down to just north of the Jensen Beach Causeway. Live shrimp and a popping cork took most of the bigger fish. The inshore snook bite has been a little slow since the season opened. But, with all the rain Taylor Creek is going to heat up so try using a live mullet. The offshore snook bite has been GREAT at the Boils. Most of the snook and redfish that were caught at the Boils were over the slot size limit. On Monday and Tuesday the snapper and flounder bite was red hot at the catwalks of the South Bridge. Live shrimp was the way to go. Until next week, good fishing. Capt. Joe Ward Inshore Fishing Guide
