Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

The snook fishing this week has been slow with only the lucky anglers that were in the right place at the right time landing a snook. Most of the fish are coming from the Ft. Pierce Inlet and on the out going tides. The only other snook reports have been coming from the anglers who are throwing feathers. They have landed their fish at the local bridges. A few snook were reported in the 15 pound range. Trout fishing has also slowed this week but I still got reports of a few nice size trout coming from around the Midway Road area. The trout were taking live shrimp during the late morning and at the high tide. Sandperch, sheepshead and croakers have been steady for the anglers fishing from the local bridges. Medium live shrimp or fresh dead shrimp have produced the most fish. If you like bluefish all you need to do is go to the surf just about anywhere along the Treasure Coast. Try using a big silver spoon or a piece of cut bait. The falling tide has been giving up most of the fish. There has also been a good run on pompano and whiting with reports of pompano to 3 pounds. Until next week, good fishing. Capt. Joe Ward Inshore Fishing Guide
