The inshore fishing this week has been about as good as it get with plenty of baits in the Ft. Pierce Inlet and in the river. Just look for the schools of baits and that is where the fish are. You will find everything from ladyfish to snook. The snook bite has been good on the tide change all week and the best bait seems to be the medium sized mullet, not the finger mullet. Try free lining the mullet around the bridges and docks for the best resluts. On Monday I had a charter and we got our limit of snook in 45 minutes. We used the medium sized mullet. The trout action has remained steady at Round Island and Queen's Cove to the north and at the Midway Road area to the south. On Tuesday my charter got their limit of trout to 5 pounds. We were using live shrimp and soft rubber baits. The snapper and flounder bite remains steady when you are fishing along the channel edges north of the North Bridge in Ft. PIerce. Live shrimp for the snapper and finger mullet and shrimp for the flounder. Until next week, good fishing. Capt. Joe Ward
