Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida
Fort Pierce, florida

The inshore fishing has been good if you are fishing for sheepshead, snapper, croakers and flounder. There has been a great flounder bite at the South Jetty and along the flats just south of the South Bridge. Use a live shrimp and a trol-rite hook. Most of the flounder being caught have been nice size. The snapper are along the channel edges and a live shrimp will land a good size snapper. The sheepshead are around the bridges and docks and once again a live shrimp is the bait to use. The croakers are all over the river. The snook action has been a little slow because of the cold water temps. There were a few caught and released at the Turning Basin and up in Taylor Creek. The snook were taking live shrimp, live baits and a Flair Hawk. The trout action has been a little slow also with the trout staying in the deeper water (5 to 8 feet). You best bet is to fish your bait very, very slow! Until next week, keep fishing. Capt. Joe Ward Inshore Fishing Guide
