The summer weather is here and so is the summer fishing. I had 4 charters last week with great catches on each one. We got our limit of trout to 7 pounds while fishing in places like The Moorings, Harbor Branch and Bear Point. The best bite was just at daylight and we used a live shrimp and a popping cork. After about 8am we moved out to the deeper water and used live pigfish. The afternoon bite has been off due to all the thunderstorms but if you did go out after the rain stopped you probably caught nice fish. The snapper are still along the channel edges with fish to 2 pounds being reported. We have also had a good run on snapper in the Ft. Pierce Inlet with fish to 8 pounds being caught. The tarpon are here but not in numbers like last year. They are slow to show up and are being very picky about what they are eating. There have been a few raised in the Ft. Pierce Inlet and also on the flats around Big Mud Creek. Just a quick reminder that snook season is closed. If you do catch one remember to use C.P.R. - CATCH - PICTURE - RELEASE! Until next week, good fishing. Capt. Joe Ward Inshore Fishing Guide
