Lots of fresh water still around the river making the water dirty but the river action has been steady. The trout are still feeding the best from daylight until about 9:00am. Topwater baits, pigfish and live shrimp have been working well to land the trout. There are still plenty of nice size mangrove snapper around the bridges in Ft. Pierce and along the channel edges. Live shrimp have been hard to beat. On three charters this week my anglers got their limits of snapper in 1 hour. There have been plenty of black drum and sheepshead around the bridges too. Small crabs, clams or small live shrimp have been the baits to use. The catch and release snook action has heated up in the Taylor Creek area. With the spillways running wide open the fish have been very active and they have been feeding to topwater baits and live mullet. The time of day or tide has not really mattered, just being there when the snook are ready to feed. Until next week, good fishing. Capt. Joe Ward Inshore Fishing Guide
