The inshore fishing has been good all week as long as you fished in the mornings. Once the afternoon winds set in you may as well have watched t.v. The only fish this week that did not make a good showing was the snook. Remember that snook season closed at midnight on May 31st. TROUT - The trout have been feeding to the North of Harbor Branch, at Round Island, and South in the river from Bear Point all the way to the Power Lines. On Saturday my anglers, Jason Willems and Ron Bartoe got 15 trout to 4 & 1/2 pounds fishing the flats just to the North of Harbor Branch. We were using live pigfish. On four other charters this past week we also got our limits of trout to 6 & 1/2 using pigfish and large live shrimp. SNAPPER & SHEEPHEAD - The snapper and sheephead are being caught from both bridges. Shrimp was the bait of choice for these fish. TRIPLETAIL - The tripletail were to the south in the river this past week. There were several reports of these fish being caught. One angler caught a 4 pounder using a root beer jig and another angler caught a 10 pounder using live shrimp. SNOOK - There were only a few snook taken this past week and Taylor Creek seemed the place to be. Finger mullet were used to catch these fish. REMEMBER - snook season is closed! SURF - Surf fishing has been good early in the morning with the anglers fishing to the South around the Power Plant. The whiting have been in the trough and the blues and mackerel have been in as far as you could cast. There are also plenty of jacks that you can fight with. Always try to remember C.P.R CATCH - PICTURE - RELEASE! Until next week, good fishing.
