TROUT - The trout fishing has been great this past week with trout up to 7 pounds. Pigfish or shrimp fished under a popping cork is the way to go. Most of the big fish have been caught to the North around the Round Island area. The bite has been from daylight until around 10:00am. SNAPPER - The snapper have been feeding on the channel edges like there is no tomorrow. Live shrimp of any size is the way to get these fish. I had reports of mangrove snapper to 3 pounds. SHEEPHEAD & CROAKERS - The sheephead and croakers have been feeding at the bridges on the falling tide. Live shrimp and fiddler crabs are the bait of choice for these fish. FLOUNDER - There have been some nice flounder caught on the flats just souht of the south bridge. Use live shrimp and fish the full high tide. TARPON - The tarpon are still in the Big Mud Creek area. I had a report of a 55 pounder being caught just before daybreak. The angler was using live mullet. SURF - The surf fishing has been excellent this past week with catches of blue fish, pompano, whiting and a few small kings. Until next week, good fishing.
