FEBURARY 11, 2010 INSHORE - Not a lot of good weather this week with cold temps and windy conditions and it made fishing tuff! However, I did get reports of a pretty good trout and redfish bite to the north from Jack Island to Fish Haven Cove. Most of the fish were caught on a light color soft plastic bait that was fished in 1 to 3 feet of water. Around the area bridges the anglers are still reporting a fair number of bluefish, sandperch and sheepshead and they were taking live shrimp. Around the docks in the Ft. Pierce Inlet the anglers were reporting bluefish, spanish mackerel and chubs -- again all on live shrimp or a small piece of cut bait. OFFSHORE - Not much to report for the offshore due to the rough sea conditions. On the days that were fishable the bigger boats reported scattered dolphin and a few sailfish starting in 130 feet of water and the bite was tot he south of the Ft. Pierce Inlet. Only a few kingfish were reported and they were coming from 50 to 80 feet of water and hitting live bait. Over the reefs anglers were reporting seabass, sheepshead and triggerfish and all were taking shrimp. Along the beaches look for bluefish and spanish mackerel and they were taking just about anything thrown at them -- just look for the diving birds. JUNIOR TEEN ANGLERS - Last Saturday was the from shore fishing tournament for the Junior Teen Anglers. Croakers were thee fish of the day.
