SEPTEMBER 17, 2010 INSHORE - The inshore fishing has been steady even with the wind this week. There has been a good trout bite to the north around the Harbor Branch - Round Island area's. First thing in the morning or late in the afternoon has been the best time. In the AM try a small top water bait or a CAL bait in a light color. In the late afternoon use a live shrimp fished under a popping cork or a live finger mullet. Snook season opened with a few over the slot fish coming from the Ft. Pierce Inlet. I only heard of 2 keeper fish and all were caught on live pinfish. The redfish bite has steady along the docks of South Indian River Dr. The fish were caught on live shrimp as well as artificial's. The snapper bite has continued to be good when fishing along the channel edges and using live shrimp. Most of the fish were 2lb. or under. The flounder bite had been steady when fishing on the sandy flats. Most of the fish were caught on live shrimp. Also, plenty of jacks and ladyfish to keep us busy. OFFSHORE - Not to much to report his week due to the big seas. A few bottom fish have been reported on the nicer days -- snapper, grouper, sea bass and others. Most were caught on pieces of cut bait. A few kings were reported coming from the Offshore Bar in 90 feet of water and they were caught on live baits. Not much else to report.
