Great action on recent charters off Hernando beach

Wind and rain will give us some nasty conditions the next day or two, but things will calm down later in the week. The fishing has been very productive out of Hernando beach. Trout, pompano, and red fish are all pulling drag throughout the entire area. The red fish are being found around mullet. Target points, cuts, mangrove shoreline, and oyster bars. Live pin fish and select shrimp free lined to these areas are great options. I use a 3/0 circle hook with a 3 ft. 20 LB leader. Trout can be found in 2 - 6 ft of water over spotty bottom on a good moving tide. White "Lil" John jerk baits and Mini Mirro-dines are very productive. Live bait will also work but the artificials produce just as good. Target the near shore rock piles in 3 - 5 ft of water for pompano. Use the same lures used for the trout. I find I get a better hook up ratio with the Mirro-dines due to the pompanos small mouth. Book your trips now to get in on some great spring fishing action. Tight lines! Capt.
