Fall fishing is on fire here in Hernando beach FL. From inshore to nearshore the fishing action is as good as it gets. I will start inshore, red fish are all over the points, creeks, mangroves and oyster bars from Hudson to Chassahowitzka. Live green backs and pin fish are the preferred bait to use right now. Fish the last of the incoming tide and first two hours of the outgoing tide for best action. Sea trout are in the shallow water as well, target 1 to 4 feet of water around grass flats and rocks / oyster bars a top water plugs such as rapala skitter walks sw08 in white and mullet color or the old faithful spook Jr in the bone color are my go to top waters. subsurface lures for trout you can't beat the mirr o lure 17mr in the 808 color is deadly. Snook are holding in the same areas as red fish. Fish a good moving tide snook will sit face first in the current cast your green back up current and let it float into the strike zone. Nearshore action is great we got the shallow water grouper bite and doing great on them. Fishing dead bait and plugs on the shallow rocks 6 to 12 feet. A high tide is producing the best bite. Spanish mackerel are all over the deeper flats drifting with live bait or casting a 1/ 4 ounce jig head with a white little Jon soft plastic is great . Cobia are showing up in the same area.
