Fihing the skinny water in the summertime! The scenerio for the next two months isn't going to change much. Fish early as possible, siesta from noon until 4 PM, grab a bite to eat and fish until dark. The Hernando Beach channel has been producing well during periods of moving water. Fish the cuts of the spoil islands with white Castaic jerky "j"s or a Berkely gulp white shrimp with an 1/8 ounce jig. Sardines work well on the freeline in the tidal flow for snook and in the eddies for redfish. Of course, snook season, the keeping of one 28"-33" snook, will not start again until September. Chasshowitksa has been giving up redfish, snook and trout. The areas of grass in 3-4 foot of water in the AM produces some nice slot trout. Come join me on the flats!
