Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters - winter fishing - It sure is cold out there but the fishing is great we are catching a lot of fish around the back creeks and springs along the Nature Coast. The best way to catch trout and red fish is with a slow retrieve if you think you are working your lure slow enough work it slower. The best rig for the past few weeks is a 1/8oz jig head with 3" white gulp shrimp. Trout are thick in the back country we are catching them up to 28" and red fish are around the big mullet schools live shrimp on a 1/0 circle hook with the tail pinched off for sent works great for reds and sheep's head or a 3" gulp shrimp on a jig head is the best way to catch reds. There are tons of rat red all over the place which is a good thing but mix in are some upper slot reds as well. On the cold day's a top water lure will not produce as much fish as a jig will when the water gets cold the trout and reds will move slow so a jig on the bottom worked slowly is the best way to catch these fish. Black drum are in the deeper holes and by springs a live shrimp with a small split shot is the way to go black drum are very good fighters and tasty good as well. Book your self a trip and lets catch some fish. Calm Seas Capt. Josh Fritz www.chasentailsfishingcharters.webs.com 352-345-9304
