Well I have not been setting the world on fire selling charters…but on the light side I have had a chance for do maintenance on my equipment. I did get a few chances to fish. Fishing with my fly equipment brought me to Chaz. Using a 6W we caught Jacks, sea trout, redfish and sea bass which is always fun. Later in the day we headed out with the spinning rods and took a couple of dink grouper off the shallow water rocks. On another trip again we did a bit of fly fishing while the other client took to the spinning rod. We fished Homosassa area for sea trout and finally headed to Crystal River to catch silver trout. Super day and fun had by all. Funny any day on the water I call a super day. I managed to do a bass fishing trip to Lake Rousseau to my surprise was full of hydrilla. I did have trouble locating fish in my usual haunts as it was almost impossible to see the structures. We managed to catch some dinks which didn't please me. Unfortunately this is a lake the hydrilla machines will not work as the stumps are plentiful. Using poison is questionable (I have no better way to control hydrilla in this lake) This lake dumps its extra water directly into the Gulf in the Yankeetown area. This make me think… how much sea grass is being killed(???) trying to kill the hydrilla in the lake. I did no offshore trips since my last report.
