Shallow water Tarpon

Tarpon fishing in the Homosassa area has been slow for me this year. The Tarpon boats I have chatted with say they are doing better in the areas south of the nature coast. I personally have been out five times looking for Tarpon not seeing many. I will be going to Fort Desoto in June fishing for Tarpon and later this year I am RVing to the key's again chasing Tarpon. Heck! why not, I do not catch and eat fish... Inshore fishing will settle down when the wind stops. Backwater fishing is doing better as the limestone cloud stirred up from the wind is not presant. Gag Grouper on the other hand are fat and full of hook holes. Catch and release is not so bad for me as I don't eat the fish I catch... Try telling your clients to practice catch and release grouper is harder than losing your lotto ticket... LOL ... We are doing well on Red Grouper... again the cost is high seeing we have to drive 100 miles round trip to catch them.
