{%image_id=16101%} Friends, tarpon fishing on the fly has to be the best sport of any species on the planet. First you have to learn to handle a big rod like a 10-11 or 12 weight. If you are already there then that is a plus. {%image_id=16102%} Even if you never have thrown at tarpon or you are an experienced fly fisher, the fun never ends. It is a skill of many facets and you learn by reading as much on the sport as possible. {%image_id=16103%} Andy Mill has written a new book and although expensive, it is the best $100 you will invest for the pursuit of tarpon on the fly. {%image_id=16105%} Andy and I have never fished together but just from listening to him on a podcast, I can tell you he knows his stuff. {%image_id=16106%} I would love to go on and write much more about fly fishing for tarpon. You will have to settle for Andy's book. {%image_id=16107%} My mind has been on the BP oil spill and already some of my clients have cancelled there plans for July. Can't say I blame them as the travel from Italy is far. Waters still unaffected include points east from Panama City. I enjoy fishing the waters of St. George Sound and so far it is spared. Although the booms are there as a precaution, the busy guides are taking their clients out each day. Enjoy these pictures of a recent trip with my friend and top gun guide Capt. Bryon Chamberlin of Land O' Lakes Florida. These were some photos I took of him from the Homosassa waters. His Hells Bay Professional is a sweet boat to fish from. have a great month in July!
