Islamorada Sea Horse Off Shore Report Report: Catching fish off shore from Islamorada is still as great as it has ever been for Mahi Mahi. The past few months have been extremely productive around patches of Sargasso weed, Floating isolated pieces of debris, sea turtles, and current edges. Most everyone that has looked for Mahi has been finding and catching them. Sometimes when anglers encounter schools of Mahi they catch one fish and the rest of the school won't eat. A few ways to get them to eat is to use small live Jacks that can be caught on quill rigs near floating debris/weeds. Throwing small pieces of bait in the water sometimes gets them going. Changing the direction of the boat moving the fish in an opposite direction will also cause a few to eat a bait.
