Islamorada "slammer" dolphin and queen snapper

We've had a wide variety of different stuff to fish for down here in Islamorada the last few weeks. Most days have been good with a mix of sailfish, kingfish, blackfin tuna, mutton snappers, and the occasional wahoo live bait fishing just outside the reef. We have also had a few surprises with some really nice "slammer" dolphin for this time of year. On Friday while headed out to do some deep dropping we found these 3 in about 300 feet of water. Caught them on 20# spinning tackle casting live ballyhoo at them. The deep dropping has been spectacular when the conditions have been right for it. Mostly a mix of queen snapper and nice blueline tilefish with some snowy grouper mixed in. I think I've probably seen more queen snapper this winter than I have in years.
