Variety of summer

As reported last week, redfish remain active in the creeks with an obvious shortage of trout. Now the trout we do catch have been in the 17"- 24" but the numbers haven't been there this year. With the loads of bait in the creeks it just reminds me of the cycles of life and the peeks and lulls over past years. Good news is my favorite fish the southern flounder is showing up in force as even on a half day charter not entirely devoted to flounder we can still manage 5-7 fish. If you think blackened redfish is the bomb try flounder! Of course your usual jacks and ladyfish help keep the action level up through the hot dog days of summer. Remember stay hydrated by starting early and water and sports drinks being the better alternative to sodas and beer and the like.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Scott Tait
