A few more cold snaps will help us reach more favorable water temps, but nonetheless fish are showing up. Winds have been strong, but most recently have subsided some. Blackfin Tuna have been breaking the surface in depths between 150'-300'. Keep an eye out for frigate birds above or other birds feeding on the surface. Football size black fin tuna still make for great sushi. Sailfish are showing up but not in significant numbers yet. Typically temperatures ranging from 67-73 are most favorable for winter time sailfish, even in cooler temperature changes we are still at the high end of that range. I expect sailfish action to really heat up on the next low pressure system that results in a sequence of NW, N, then NE winds. Hopefully there will be friendlier winds on the next front. This winter I have a capacity up to four on a 23' center console for trips. Please contact me via my contact details in the cyberangler directory for further information.

Tight Lines,

Capt. Colin Hickey
