Jupiter Offshore and HOT reef action

Most of the action has been dominated by Mutton snapper and kingfish, oh yeah and those spiny little critters that are tucked in their rocks. I spent mini-season in the keys again which means I have not been offshore for nearly 7 days, not good! Anyhow, the major action is Muttons and some of them being very nice. Live bait has been omnipresent especially in early morning. You can use your live bait in the A.M. to try to target dorado and kings with some sails in the mix. You may donate most to bonitos. Rigging 2 dozens ballyhoo just is not worth the hassle for all the bonitos you will toss back. Keep your baits to send on the reef though after taking them offshore, cutting the tails and a couple ounce sinkers depending on speed of drift is a for sure recipe for some big muttons in 85-105 ft. You will also get some King Mackerel and Reef Sharks in the mix. When attracting either of the two I relocate for tastier Mutton.
