King Supreme! Sorry about the delay in reporting, not much had changed in our area until the last 5-7 days. That's all changed! Kingfish are all over the north Palm Beach area, from 60-120 feet kings of all sizes have been thick as snowbirds doing the early bird special at the Ale House. Great fishing and great weather has some of the baits shops are running out of frozen sardines. We've gone thru many boxes and still caught on jigs, spoons, topwater and swimming plugs. These fish are stacked up in some areas and any presentation will take them. One commercial boat reported a 68lbs. kingfish caught off Juno and I know the Black Dog boat caught one close to that in size not long ago. While dead bait and artificials will produce great numbers of fish, live bait, such as goggle eyes and blue runners while account for most of the larger fish. Capt. Joe Dobbins who runs Frequent Flyers charters in Jupiter has been slow trolling with these larger baits and has caught Kings over 30lbs. every time out.
