With hundreds of boats out over the weekend in a 10 mile stretch it made fishing your favorite spots tough. Three tournaments were happening all in the same day, I would say bad planning on the tournament committees. However, there were enough fish for everyone from the 4-5 day easterly wind that has been blowing onshore all week. The main fish of the weekend was Kings, Kings and Kings. We were fishing the Palm Beach KDW Classic, the biggest fish we had was a 31.4 pound smoker that hit a live blue runner in 180 ft south of the Juno Pier. {%image_id=5019%} Other than that the kings were hitting everywhere, a drifted sardine didnt last 10 minutes in the water and live bait under the kite was getting eaten within 20 minutes by either kings or sails. The king action stopped around 11am, Im sure it lit back up in the late afternoon hours as it usually does. I talked to the crew on "High Hopes" who fished a tourny on sunday, they had all king bites in the morning as well. Big dolphin were weighed in at the tournaments, 2 over 40 lbs in the KDW classic and a 38lb in a local Jupiter tournament. Some hit a trolling ballyhoo and others ran offshore to find debris. Wahoos were caught on high speed trolls and some pretty nice ones were seen.
