Kingfish Maddness This morning I was expecting some slow action with only a half day to work with and no wind, but to our surprise the Kingfish made a surprise attack. The first two baits to hit the water were taken with out notice. I guess we were not paying attention or the fish were so hungry they wasted no time catching up to the lively sardines. I'll go with that second notion. Anyways, the third bait to hit the water resulted in a nice kingfish. From there on out the action never slowed until the am half was over. We ended with 12 kings in the 10 to 15 pound range. They were biting in the area just south of the Boil. Several other boats got into the action as well. We were using small pilchards and sardines for bait. Which took 2 hours to catch. There were also some sailfish in the area as we watched the party boat Blue Seas battle a nice fish while we battled the kings. Good Luck and lets go fishing. Q
