1st Annual The Sailfish Tourney It's been a few weeks since my last reports. We have been fishing some tourneys and doing a few charters in between. Last weekend we fished the first annual "The Sailfish Tournament". Fishing was pretty slow, we only caught 2 fish the first day. Heading into day 2 we were 5 fish behind the lead. We ran way down south to get away from the crowd of boats. Just like I though we were all alone down there and put the baits out. We spent the whole day down there catching 5 out of 7 sailfish and a nice 40lb yellowfin tuna to win the 1st place daily and 3rd place overall in the tourney. Congrats to Joey Turner on the 4 aces and Q on the Get Lit for taking 1st and 2nd place. On to some other stuff. The dolphin fishing was really good here the past 2 weeks. We have been catching fish ranging from 5lbs to 30lbs. We have also been catching a few cobia's off of Rays on the shallow patch reefs. The sailfishing has been hot and cold if we get a good north blow and some current we have seen up to 15 fish a day. We have also been swordfishing during the day. I had 2 trips the past 2 weeks and on both trips we scored fish over 200lbs. Hopefully the bite will pick up around the fullmoon in a few days. We can only expect the fishing to get better. Give me a call and let's get out there and catch some fish! Tightlines, Capt Joe McGivern
