Reef -11/19/08 Fishing the shallow reefs in 15 to 30 feet of water the past few weeks was on with lots of action and variety. Lots of Spanish and cero macks are in with fish up to 8 lbs. Some big African pompano{%image_id=6865%} and mutton snapper{%image_id=6898%} Are eating live ballyhoo baits. Fishing shrimp and cut baits on light tackle the bite is fast with, yellow tail, mangrove, lane and mutton snapper as well as hog fish, porgys, jacks and a few permit. Shark and cuda are a Common catch on most trips. Grouper are there but most are short of the legal size. As cold fronts roll in the bigger grouper should start showing up on the shallow reefs. This type of fishing will hold up and peak threw the winter months. tight lines Capt.Bob
