The Key Largo & Tavernier area is rebuilding quickly after Hurricane Irma. On September 27th I ventured out to the reef from my business location at Tavernier Creek Marina. Happy to report that the fish did not blow away in the storm. The ballyhoo and speedos were thick in the chum slick. Caught a few speedos and recycled them into a limit of 3-5lb Yellowtails and Mutton Snappers. Further out the jumbo Blackfin Tunas are on the humps, but so are the sharks especially at the Islamorada Hump. Best best for large Tunas right now is the 409 Hump. Do not believe what you read, the Florida Keys is recovering quickly and the fishing is outstanding! Capt.
