The Fishing Report. Dec. 2, 2008 {%image_id=6254%} There have been a number of cold fronts rolling through the Florida Keys since the end of October. Cooling waters and brisk northerly winds have put a damper on fishing in the backcountry for Bonefish and Permit. However, there are a few Bonefish and Permit found along the Atlantic side during mid-day tides when the water warms up a bit. Baby Tarpon are in the creeks, and larger resident Tarpon are found in channels when the water warms in between cold fronts. The cooler weather usually continues through December and January. The best fishing is during those warm up periods in between cold fronts. There are always some Jack Crevalle and Barracuda to catch in the meantime! Our Father (Mother) - Son (Daughter) Key West Flats Fishing Trips are now scheduled for throughout the summer, fall, winter, and spring.
