Key West and Lower Keys

The storm of terrorism and Tropical Storm Gabrielle has kept us off of the flats for the past few days and will keep us tying flys for a few more days, as strong winds, heavy rain, and mourning dominate the Florida Keys climate. Now is the time to fly the American flag and fill the fly boxes with Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit fly patterns in preparation for some great fall fishing in the Keys. Anglers in the know will be flocking to the Keys this September and October for some outstanding Bonefishing on the flats. There are also Permit and baby Tarpon available. The fishing should be great once the tropical storm has departed and the wind and seas calm down. Prior to Sept. 11, we had some great bonefishing on the flats with tailing and cruising fish everywhere on the Gulf side flats.
